Behind KACollection says Kersti Abrahamsen - designer with roots in Bergen, now living in Nesodden where she has designed collections since 1984. She did it all by knitting their own design, first by hand and then on the machine. The garments were sold to friends and acquaintances, but the customer base grew steadily. Soon she shops at Nesodden and five employees who knit her designs full time. The impetus was the joy of playing with colors and creating timeless design with a little extra.
After a few years Kersti was hired as chief designer at Via Milano. Knitting machine was packed to the side and Kersti focused 100% on the design, resulting in several collections and brands for Via Milano both at home and abroad over 10 years.
In 1999 it was time to start his own, and KACollection was established. With the original dream of working with colors and models, the unique technical knitting skills she had acquired over the years, as well as his sense of quality, she started at the drawing board. In collaboration with suppliers Kersti had worked with for several years, KACollection's first collection presented in February 2000.
KACollection is a timeless collection that appeals to women of all ages, from 20 to 80 years. The garments have a little extra - just what separates them from the garment can find many other places. Cutting, quality and patterns are all designed for the same thing - that they should make women feel great! Colors have a central role and collection is designed so that garments can be easily mixed and matched, both in terms of quality and color. We work with the same suppliers who for years has met Kersti's stringent quality and technology - and that Norwegian fashion design it should, of course, is the collection adapted Nordic skin and body, not to mention climate. |
